Account Executive

Current Employee - Account Executive in Lehi, UT

Pros
Excellent Benefits, High Performance really does equal high income! The only pressure I get here is the pressure I put on myself to do better the next day because I know exactly the number I need to hit to earn what I want to earn, and all it takes is focus and doing my job. I love that the company is completely transparent about compensation. 100k is possible in the first year.

Cons
I wish there was a company match 401k but I hear they are working on that! Womply is a company that clearly invests in their people.

Advice to Management
I love the transparent and honest feedback provided by all the managers and even upper management. Thank you for providing solid leadership that propels the company and MY career forward.

Honest, thorough and friendly process

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

Pros
Womply is a real SaaS company with real customers, serving an underserved and interesting market. The engineering team is smart and experienced, and the pace is fast and challenging without being back-breaking.

Cons
If you prefer the lugubrious pace of Corporate America, this probably isn't for you.

Advice to Management
You've done a great job dealing with all the normal early startup challenges, now do the same for the mid-sized to big challenges that are coming.

Getting Better and Better!

Current Employee - Manager in Lehi, UT

Pros
As one of the longest tenured employees in the Lehi, UT office, I have seen the growth and evolution of a tech company in a new market. As with any new market expansion, there have been some growing pains and bumps along the way.
I can say however, that Womply has definitely begun to make a name for itself within the Utah market and it is exciting to see the positive results of hiring good people, having a great product and having ambitious goals. A few of the Pros in my opinion are:
Listening-Executives have done a great job over the last few months of soliciting and acting on feedback from all departments to help make Womply a place employees want to be long term.
Autonomy- Womply does a fantastic job of hiring talented people, giving them the tools and resources to do their job, and letting them go to work. Managers are given a lot of autonomy to manage their teams or projects with support and oversight when necessary.
People-There are many great people at Womply who are all driven to succeed and make a positive impact for the organization and for small businesses.
Benefits- Flexible time off, including encouraged time off the week of Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Years. Our insurance rates actually dropped this year (when does that ever happen!) Frequent lunches, snacks, drinks etc.

Cons
As with any new company, we are still trying to figure some things out. Only a Con if you are adverse to change or want to be a small cog in a big machine.

Advice to Management
Keep listening to and acting on feedback received from quarterly surveys and management meetings. Continue to strive to show employees are valued, setting the tone from executive leadership and that permeates through the rest of the org.

Fast-Paced Work Environment with a Clear Mission

Current Employee - Engineering Manager in San Francisco, CA

Pros
Womply serves an interesting market that deserves more attention. Its mission to "help small businesses thrive in a digital world" still resonates well with me after 2+ years of working here. I get to work with bright people who can solve hard, complex problems, and that keeps me motivated to come to work every day. As someone with years of experience in the tech industry, it feels good to be in the environment…

Cons
As a start-up, Womply has gone through some growing pains. Decisions are often made quickly, and it can be challenging to keep up with the pace. If you're used to working for a well-established company in a clearly defined role, you may find this work environment overwhelming.

Advice to Management
Continue to empower employees to share input and involve them in the decision-making process.

I love my job!

Current Employee - Anonymous

Pros
As a small startup, you have the opportunity to influence in many areas, and maintain ownership of your specific area. Great culture of working hard, and then stepping away to enjoy your life. Awesome benefits package. Weekly lunches, free drinks and snacks. The people are the best!

Cons
We shift a lot - typical for a startup, but if you don't handle change well, this is not the place for you. We move so fast, it can be hard to keep up sometimes.

Advice to Management
Keep hiring great people, but then step back a little more and let them do the job you hired them to do.

The Catalyst for my Career

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

Pros
Womply has been exactly the start up experience I was looking for when I applied a year and a half ago. I wanted to be a part of the next big company, I wanted to experience the ups and downs I saw in sitcoms like Silicon Valley and I wanted the opportunity to truly build something. I've gotten each of those things at Womply. I'll bullet point my details to try and be concise: - Career Opportunity - Not to show up to a job, but to build a customized career that fits me - Coaching culture - Not because my manager owes it to me, but because the expectation is set that all I need to do to get more coaching is ASK. - Innovative technology/products - Not just because we have that sexy new product everyone is buzzing about, but because we constantly make changes and tweaks to customize our products to our evolving customers' needs and wants. - Growth Opportunities - Not because doing my job makes me qualified for a promotion, but because the "downs" have taught me just as much as the "ups" in regards to getting creative to solve a problem, moving fast and anticipating the needs of others. Engagement - Womply sets up an environment in which employees can thrive, the rest is up to us. Engagement is a 50/50 proposition which requires effort from both sides. Transparency and Ownership - I group these together because they go hand in hand. Start up companies need to trust their employees and provide insane amounts of autonomy, mainly because we don't have time to babysit each other. This creates a sense of ownership. To reinforce this sense of ownership, Womply needs to include people in on the things they own - enter transparency. We run through our KPIs and financials every single month. We reiterate goals and initiatives and catch everyone up on what teams are doing on the backend to execute on these goals and initiatives.

Cons
Building a company requires many skillsets, often times requiring multiple skillsets from each person. This is largely due to pivoting to remain competitive and establish ourselves. Due to this, start ups are great for Jacks of all Trades and can be less than ideal for Master's of One.

Advice to Management
As we progress and move through phases of our growth, our needs change, we do a great job of highlighting these phases in our Monthly company meetings, but perhaps we could announce the changes in the skillsets needed (maybe in a follow up email) . This can help current employees hone skills and remain competitive.
