Turns out, Valentine’s Day isn’t a red-letter day for small, local restaurants, according to a new report from Womply. February 14 is the 107th-best sales day of the year, with a mere four percent increase in transaction volume and 18-percent lift in revenue compared to an average day. That amounts to two additional transactions and a $5 increase in average ticket.
In fact, Father’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, New Year’s Eve, and even Cinco de Mayo are better sales days than Valentine’s Day. That’s one of the key findings from Womply’s State of Restaurants report, which analyzed transactions at 26,000 small, independent restaurants in all 50 states during every day of the 2017 calendar year.
