Cory Capoccia joined Womply in 2011. He leads the strategic vision for many of the company’s functions and works closely with members of Womply’s executive team, with a particular focus on the intersection of finance, partnerships, revenue, and operations.
Cory has led Womply to sign long-term agreements with the nation’s top credit card processors, helping them reduce attrition, improve acquisition, and generate new revenue. Under Cory’s leadership, Womply has raised $50 million in investor capital and recruited, onboarded, and developed hundreds of employees across offices in San Francisco and Lehi, Utah.
Cory brings more than 12 years of experience as a payments technology executive. Prior to joining Womply, Cory was part of the founding team of Verifi, a leading provider of end-to-end credit card payment acceptance and risk management solutions for large-scale businesses. While building Verifi from the ground up, Cory served multiple roles spanning operations management, relationship management, business development, analytics, new product development, and sales. Cory was a key contributor to pioneering new technologies and strategies for Verifi and holds U.S. patent number 8275705.
Prior to joining Verifi, Cory worked in the financial services and consulting industries at Morgan Stanley, Himelsein Mandel (a boutique hedge fund), and Deloitte & Touche. Earlier in life, Cory’s family owned a small restaurant in Detroit and he worked at numerous small businesses across many categories (retail, automotive etc.) where each struggled to keep pace with technology and engage with their customers.
Cory graduated with honors from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a bachelor’s degree in business economics and accounting. When he isn’t chasing his two kids around, Cory can be found climbing and descending mountains on mountain bikes, motorcycles, or skis. He is also on the board of the San Francisco YPO chapter and an active advisor to a number of startups.
