While March may have been the biggest month of the year, Mother's Day was responsible for the single-biggest week of the year for South Carolina retailers: May 6th through the 12th.

Mother's Day shopping was also responsible for the single-biggest day of the year for local retailers in South Carolina (Friday, May 11th), but 3 of the rest of the top five days all fell during the Spring break season. The Friday before Christmas was the lone exception, bringing enough business to South Carolina retail shops to make it the third biggest day of the year.
