Amazingly Streamlined and Simple Process
Overall, the process for applying for a PPP loan through Womply was pretty smooth. I'm so glad they advertised their product through social media, because otherwise I would've probably missed out on the loan entirely. My wife and I are both 1099 independent contractors, and we were both able to complete our applications through Womply's automated system. The only issue I had was there wasn't a way to call anyone to ask questions to help you if you were to make a mistake on the application. But because of the sheer volume of people all applying for these loans at the same time, it's understandable that they had to shut down the phone help line, and I didn't hold it against them in my review. They did get back to us fairly quickly via email, though, and their FAQ page was pretty thorough in explaining the process and identifying solutions for common mistakes people make going through the application process, such as linking their bank accounts, and uploading required documents. I would highly recommend using Womply if you're a small business owner or independent contractor; my wife and I both qualify for 100% loan forgiveness, so this has been such a blessing for us, and we want to see the vast majority of the money that was set aside for this program go to other small businesses and independent contractors just like us! It's given us some breathing room during this economic uncertainty and relieved most of the burden we were carrying, including working long hours and remaining on call 24/7, trying to build a financial buffer for ourselves, just in case our workload and income were to suddenly dry up amid these challenging times. So now we don't have to run ourselves into the ground anymore trying to make up for the dip in business we've experienced, or the possibility of future disruptions to our income. It's definitely a process with multiple steps, but Womply made it so streamlined and simple, so I recommend trying to be patient and they will let you know when it's time to sign the next document, and will give you updates as soon as they're available. Even though there's a definite sense of urgency surrounding the entire program due to the rapidly approaching deadline at the end of May, rest assured that you will still get your funding if you apply before then. The SBA will continue processing all applications that were submitted to them by the cutoff, but the sooner you apply, the better!
