What days of the week are retail shops in Texas busiest?

Fridays and Saturdays are busy at retail shops across the country, and things were no different for Texas retail businesses.

Among transacting businesses, Saturday was the busiest day of the week in terms of foot traffic, with Texas retail businesses processing an average of 16 transactions per day.

 

Texans spend more per transaction on weekdays, with Tuesdays claiming the largest average ticket size of the week at $86.57 per ticket. Locals are the most frugal on Sundays, when they spent an average of $25.17 less than on Tuesdays.

Spring break was huge for businesses in the the Lone Star State. March was the biggest month of the year overall, and 5 of the top 10 shopping weeks of the year fell during the spring break season (late February through early April).

While March may have been the biggest month of the year overall, Mother's Day was responsible for the single-biggest week of the year for Texas retailers: May 6th through the 12th.

 

Top 5 days for Texas retail businesses

Three of the top five days of the year also fell during the spring break months, while Mother's Day and Christmas shopping also drove enough businesses to make the Fridays before each holiday a top five shopping day in Texas.
