Back to school shopping appears to really move the needle for local retailers in the Hawkeye State. August was the biggest month of the year overall, and 3 of the top 10 shopping weeks of the year fall during late August and early September.

While August may have been the biggest month of the year overall, the holiday shopping season was responsible for the single-biggest week of the year for Iowa retailers: December 16th through the 22nd.
