Well, Womply, a small business software company based in San Francisco, sent some numbers from the 2017 MLB playoffs — which, for Tribe fans, were much too short.
Small businesses in the region saw a 43% revenue increase on game days during the Tribe’s loss to the New York Yankees in the American League Division Series. According to Womply, that’s well above the national average of a 32% revenue bump.
The Indians’ third consecutive postseason trip kicks off Friday at Houston. Games 3 and, if necessary, 4 will be played at Progressive Field on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 8 and 9.
If businesses — and plenty of others — get their wish, those will be the first of, oh, eight or nine postseason home games for the Tribe.
