SAN FRANCISCO – July 17, 2018 – Womply, the leader in front office software for small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), today announced the appointment of Tony Grimminck as the company’s first chief financial officer (CFO).

Grimminck will report to Cory Capoccia, Womply’s president, and will oversee accounting, financial planning and analysis, business intelligence and analytics, investor relations, payroll, procurement, and financial reporting.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Tony to Womply and are confident that he’ll make a big impact on our growing business,” Capoccia says. “It’s an exciting time to be building the next generation of software for American small businesses. Tony’s addition to our already strong executive team will help us solidify our position as the No. 1 software provider to a massive and grossly underserved segment of the U.S. economy.”

Grimminck has more than two decades of financial, operational, entrepreneurial, and strategy experience at large and small organizations in the private and public sectors. Prior to joining Womply, Grimminck was CFO at HotelTonight, served in various executive roles at StubHub, and was a vice president at both Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan. He also co-founded an international innovation network and has advised multiple startups.

Grimminck joins Womply at a time of rapid growth for the company. In the past few years, Womply has acquired more than 100,000 paying small business customers, partnered with nearly 50 payment processors and merchant acquirers, and grown to about 250 employees in San Francisco; Portland, Oregon; and Lehi, Utah.

“Womply is on the verge of really breaking out, and I’m excited to help the company build on its current momentum and capitalize on new opportunities,” Grimminck says. “Very few software-as-a-service companies have the data and distribution advantages that Womply enjoys. I’m looking forward to a very active role in taking the company to the next level.”

Prior to moving to the U.S., Grimminck was an officer in the Australian Army, where he led teams engaged in infrastructure building and peacekeeping efforts on three continents.

Grimminck is a graduate of the Royal Military College, Duntroon and the Australian Defence Force Academy. He has a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Australia and an MBA from Columbia University, New York.
