Peak Capital ranked among largest U.S. apartment owners
Peak Capital Partners, a Provo-based apartment investment and management company, announced it was named by the National Multifamily Housing Council to the 2018 NMHC 50, the annual ranking of the nation’s largest apartment owners.

Womply ranks Utah 15th for local business sales for early 2018
Utah ranked No. 15 nationally for sales at small, local businesses during the first three months of 2018, according to new analysis from Womply, a technology company serving small businesses.
According to Womply’s Small Business Almanac, consumers spent $1,565 daily and $46,947 monthly on average at small, local restaurants, in the first quarter. This is a decrease of 18 percent compared to the same time in 2017. Lodging was up, though. Consumers spent $2,402 daily and $72,073 monthly at local lodging businesses, an increase of 34 percent from last year.

Registration open for Talent Innovation Summit on May 1
Business leaders, employees and small business owners are encouraged to register for the third annual Talent Innovation Summit. The summit will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., May 1 at the Salt Lake Community College Miller Campus, 9750 S. 300 West, Sandy.
According to the Women Tech Council, sponsor of the summit, this year’s theme is, “The Shattered Ceiling.” Companies who made the WTC Shatter List will be celebrated, and keynotes from these companies will present. The keynote speakers include: Denise Leleux, head of global customer experience at Tesla; Steve Daly, CEO of Ivanti; Archana Thiagarajan, director of experience design at Adobe; and Karl Sun, Lucid CEO.
The event will also include live pitches from companies who claim to be the best companies for women in tech, including: Clearlink, Dealertrack, Lucid, O.C. Tanner, Overstock, Pluralsight, Vivint Smart Home and Zions Bank.

Local Commercial Real Estate Symposium set for May 1 in Provo
The fourth annual Utah County Commercial Real Estate Symposium will be May 1. Sponsored by Colliers International, formerly CBC Advisors, the symposium brings together top decision-makers to discuss trends and issues impacting Utah County’s commercial landscape.

Springville makes business-friendly list from WalletHub
Springville was one of six Utah cities recently ranked in the top 20 on WalletHub’s report on 2018’s Best Small Cities to Start a Business.
Springville came in at No. 14, on the list. St. George earned the No. 2 spot, with Clearfield and Ogden taking fifth and sixth, Bountiful hitting 12th, and Midvale coming in at No. 19.
According to WalletHub information, to determine the most business-friendly small markets across the nation, WalletHub compared more than 1,200 small-sized cities across 18 key metrics, including business environment, access to resources and overall business costs. The data set also looked at average growth in number of small businesses, investor access and labor costs. Multiple Utah cities ranked well in access to business financing.
