Got take out: salad, spicy tuna & salmon sashimi + under 5 minutes & the salad dressing (yum!) - fish and roll were meh.

Yama is one of the best places for sushi in NY. The rolls are really good, especially the tuna and salmon. Try their teriyaki also, and also their different cooked items. They have good specials for lunch and dinner

Yama serves great Japanese food and offers the better value for their lunch special menus in terms of quality / quantity / price then any other Japanese I know in in New York. Their sushi special dinner menu is an excellent offer as well.

I've tried all the places in city...Nobu, Sushi of Gari, Haru, Samba, etc. Yama is hands down the best of them all. They have the freshest fish every time I go. I recommend sitting at the bar because if you are going to Yama you are going for the food not for the ambiance.

Went for lunch and the food, as well as portions, were awesome. The lunch specials are reasonably priced and very filling. This will def become my go-to place for sushi in Soho.
