I had to have surgery for breast cancer and had 20 lymph nodes removed. Since the nodes were removed I have had considerable swelling in my right arm and had lymphedema. The wrapping that the physical therapist taught me to do was helpful but the swelling persisted with pain. I heard about Dr. Victoria Goldsten through a friend of mine and decided to try a lymphatic drainage massage. With just one session I felt better and I plan to return as I need it. Dr. Goldsten is very knowledgeable. She is a nurse, massage therapist and a homeopathic doctor. I recommend her highly.

I contacted Dr. Goldsten for Lymphatic Drainage Massage when my mother was terminally ill with malignant neck cancer. She had disfiguring lymph edema. The edema caused her so much pain that she would cry frequently. After each treatment she felt relief and asked if Dr. Goldsten could see her several times per week. Dr. Goldsten was nice enough to fit her into her busy schedule. I am very grateful for the work she did for that terrible time in my mother's life. Her sessions were the highlight of my mother's day.

Got a groupon from my boyfriend for a orthopedic massage with Dr Robert White. I am working out very often and have hard time to sleep. I went there and found a very friendly person as the Doctor. The experience was great! I felt so relieved after! I would recommend Dr White and the orthopedic massage for everyone. It is not relaxing at the moment but feels soooooo good after. Besides the massage, he made me very comfortable and he's very professional. I will return

Dr. Robert White is amazing, I arrived with shoulder pain, and left with new insights about my shoulder issue and in less pain. Two days and a rather intense yoga practice later, my shoulder feels night and day better. Dr. White is very knowledgeable and has a great personality. If a friend is looking for a massage therapist, without a doubt I am recommending Dr. White.

I tool reflexology classes with Jen Martinez. She was great! learned tons of new stuff and have been using it since.

bought a group on last year. called to schedule BEFORE it expired, was told they were undergoing construction or moving or something like that and to call back to schedule in 2 weeks. I called back multiple times with no one answering or calling me back. it was pretty frustrating. then I called another number and was able to get through. I then was told I needed to schedule my appt online, so i did, then i was told to fax in my groupon, b/c they couldn't schedule it until then. it took me months to do so, my fault, but i was NEVER told when the extension expired and it is a royal pain to schedule with these people.  finally i emailed a pic of the voucher and they couldn't read, it so I had to email it in again. Then they emailed me back saying i owed $71 dollars more b/c the group on had expired! DUH. You were the ones that didn't allow me to use it when I called before it expired. I was NEVER when i was told to call back i n2 weeks that it would be only good for 2 more weeks. (which is what goldstein is saying when i emailed in my issue).  On top of that, why don't you answer the phone numbers i was calling (have these calls documented on my phone bill)  or have them transferred to another working phone when I did call back 2 wks later like i was told. GROUPON  says they've paid the merchant already and that I should have called before it expired to tell them the business won't honor the voucher, but they never said that before it expired.. omg what a crapola of a business. any thoughts of ever going there to use their alternative practitioners.. out the window.

Dr. Robert White is a true professional. I was in a car accident last year so getting any treatments I must seek out people who know what they are doing and won't cause further injury. I went in with a back that I threw out plus a stiff neck.I came out feeling like the major knots and stiffness had been removed.

Somewhere around 3.75 to 4 stars.

I did not find the place to be as bad as others describe.  The massage therapist was nice and responded to all my (basic) questions, no matter how simple they may have seemed, with patience.  I got the groupon.  I think what I should have done was get a more focused massage, but basically got a brief overview of the full body.  Almost like micromassage of each of the major muscles throughout the body, for a total of an hour. 

It seems scheduling has improved since many of the complaints lodged from 2012.  BUT, I would like to see it improve more as it is still 2 star.  It is still not that great, I did not like that portion of my experience.  But when it is all said and done, I am glad I went to this place for the actual massage.  Though I generally find massages to be pricy no matter where you get them, groupon makes them a little more accessible to the rest of us and they did not seem to mind the fact that I used a groupon (some places kind of give off this 'tude when you use one).

4 stars but I probably will not come back as I can not afford it (at least until I someday get rich).

Showed up for a weekend appointment only to be told that I was "not in the system." This is despite the fact that I had confirmed my appointment over e-mail a couple of days before it was scheduled to happen. After going all the way over there, I was told (after waiting for 10-15 minutes for a receptionist to emerge) that there was nothing that could be done. No offer of a refund or discount, either - completely ridiculous. They really do not care about customer service.

The massages themselves were okay, but nothing special.  Definitely not worth the hassle of trying to schedule something at this place.

This review should have been written a long time ago, but I didn't know about this page in Google+. If you are looking for a professional and certified place to go for your alternative therapy needs, the Washington Institute of Natural Medicine (WINM) is the place to go to! I had been experiencing sinus problems, along with inflammation in one of my knees due to an old injury. Robert, who provides manual therapy treated me first. What a wonderful treatment! Had such great relief that I haven't had for a long time! After I expressed my concerns about possibly further injuring my knee by exercising, Robert suggested that I research Tai Chi and Chair Yoga for consideration. I accepted the advise, did my research, chose Chair Yoga to start with and have good results. Minor stress on my knees! I then met with Dr. Goldsten who specializes in Homeopathy. She tested me and determined which homeopathic remedies would work with me to aid in clearing up the sinus problem and support the removal of inflammation in my knee. Wow, what a pleasant experience! I hope in sharing this that if you believe in, rely on alternative medicine/therapies, or want to complement your medical treatment/protocol with alternative medicine/therapies, highly consider the WINM to meet you needs. In knowing, experiencing and sharing this, the WINM will no longer be one of the best kept secrets in DC, but one that is known in a wider circle for its professional, exceptional, certified/licensed practitioners, FNPs, Medical Doctors who provide outstanding services!
