Aya Mikami

Director of Engineering Operations

Aya Mikami oversees various technical projects and programs at Womply. She is deeply involved with many aspects of engineering, including PCI compliance, data and product quality, cross-team coordination, internal reporting and technical documentation. She has developed Womply’s PCI compliance program from the ground up and project managed complex infrastructure projects and software releases.

Aya has 17 years of operational and technical program management experience in the software industry, working at SaaS companies in particular. Prior to joining Womply in 2015, Aya spent 6 years at Marin Software in San Francisco. During her tenure, she developed scalable product development and release processes, helped the company break into the Japanese market, and built the Technical Program Management team. She also helped Marin Software prepare for its IPO in 2013 by working with auditors and project managing key infrastructure projects. In 2002, Aya joined pre-IPO Google to help expand its AdWords operations internationally, and she held a variety of roles there for the next 6 years as the company grew quickly.

Aya is a big supporter of local businesses and frequently shops at family-owned grocery stores in her neighborhood. She believes that small business owners deserve more user-friendly technical resources, and she’s passionate about building a world-class product that helps them thrive in the digital world.

Aya holds a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Coker College and a MFA from Savannah College of Art & Design. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and teenage son. She is a dog enthusiast and an avid cook.
